Doing your own 'dirty work'? Why?

There are a few features of the game which are intended for your Mafia to help you, in order for you all to receive a reward. Yet strangely, many people seem to insist on also helping themselves too, even though they get no added benefit from doing so. I find this akin to cleaning your own toilet when you have a maid who is supposed to do it.

Wars
I would imagine that 99.5% plus of wars are won by the person who declares. Why automatically participate in wars you declare yourself? You don't get the helper reward either, so in fact all you're potentially doing is taking away the chance for someone else to help and get their loot / assist / achievement. Consider only help in your own Wars as a last resort, when you have been declared on, or if the opponent starts to retaliate in one you have declared.

Operations
By joining your own operation, you are using energy/stamina that you could use on jobs, fighting, robbing or someone else's operation. You still receive the same quantity of loot, and again you are effectively taking away the chance for someone else to get some Op loot. If you are worried about it not getting done in time, only join it when you have less than 24 hours left. You will probably find that as long as you manage your Operation and don't allow anyone to sit in it having not completed their job, it'll probably get shared by someone who joins it. So please, give your Operation a little time before jumping in yourself!

I can understand those with a smaller Mafia needing to do their own dirty work sometimes, but otherwise try and give a chance for your friends to reap the benefits of Wars and Ops, instead of killing them off yourself. For me, it's all about just using a little common sense.
